植群生態學為植物生態學中以植物群落所延伸的課程，本課程主要以鳥瞰的方式從全球的視野逐漸縮小至臺灣的主要植被類型，讓學生了解植群的多樣性。第一部分以氣候分類以及主要植群組成來介紹世界的植被類型，第二部分則是講述臺灣的植群型，以及影響植群分布的環境因子。最後一個部分則探討植群的分類、物種的交互作用、入侵植物以及植群的經營管理、保育及復育。
Vegetation Ecology is an advanced course that extends from the plant ecology to focus on plant communities. This course mainly takes a bird's-eye view, gradually narrowing the scope from a global perspective to the major vegetation types in Taiwan, enabling students to understand the diversity of plant communities. The first part introduces world vegetation types through climate classification and main vegetation composition. The second part discusses the types of plant communities in Taiwan and the environmental factors influencing their distribution. The final part explores the classification of plant communities, species interactions, invasive plants, and the management, conservation, and restoration of plant communities.
